The R. D. Stethem Battalion
U.S. NAVAL SEA CADET CORPS
ALOHA!
We are the R. D. Stethem Battalion, a joint Sea Cadet and League Cadet unit of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Our Battalion is located in the beautiful and historic Pearl Harbor, Hawai'i and we train at the Honolulu Council Navy League located between Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam and the Ford Island Naval Bases.
Our Battalion was founded in 2013 and adopted the namesake of Robert Dean Stethem, a US Navy Seabee and Diver, Second Class Petty Officer, who gave his life in service and the defense of civilians and his fellow sailors. Our Battalion strives to uphold the "Steadfast and Courageous" creed that reflects his heroism and sacrifice.

OUR MISSION
The mission of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps is to build leaders of character by imbuing in our cadets the highest ideals of honor, respect, commitment, and service!
OUR STRATEGY
We carry out our mission through the implementation of our training program designed to:
Develop an interest and ability in seamanship and seagoing skills
Instill virtues of good citizenship and strong moral principles in each cadet
Demonstrate the value of an alcohol-free, drug-free, and gang-free lifestyle
Expose cadets to the prestige of public service and a variety of career paths through hands-on training with our nation's armed services
Our Battalion consists of both Navy League Cadets and Navy Sea Cadets. We conduct routine training Drills twice a month on top of community service and support of various military commands. Click below to learn more about the two cadet groups.
